Instant (Polaroid): Mac App Store - A Quick Review

I stumbled upon this cool looking app called Instant on the Mac Store. Basically it turns any photo into a polaroid for that vintage feel. I never usually buy apps, despite the £70 credit I've have! But for £2.99 (60% off for a limited time) I thought I'd give it a go.

Instant is very easy use, when loaded you're treated to a lovely image of a Polaroid camera (I set my wallpaper as an image of corkboard I found Google). All you need to do then is drag and drop the image you want, crop it and press shot. The image then slides out and starts to develop complete with sound effects, which I find to be a nice touch.

Instant then gives you the option to customise the photo with 28 different filters and add text with a choice of different hand written fonts.

When you're happy with the result hover over the bottom of the image and you can then save image or upload it directly to Flickr. All of this is very easy to do and you end up with some really nice photos.

Another nice touch I found after looking in the preferences, is that Instant will choose a random filter (this can be turned off) for each photo you develop. You can also change the speed the photo develops as well as toggling sound effects and the colour of the frame. Not a huge amount of options, but all you would really need.

If you don't have Photoshop and want something that is quick and easy to use, that can add a fun and quirky touch to your photos, then this is the app for you.

Thanks for reading, Brown.

Need to Stop being so Lazy...

Well it's been a while, over a year infact. Not that it matters, because no one reads this bloody thing anyways. Despite this, I'm gonna try and pay a tad more attention to my blog. As you can see in the previous post, I'm gonna try and focus on promoting my design work and photography more. But we'll have to see how it goes, because it'll probably be another year before I'm back.

Anyways here's my business card design so you have something to look at!

Peace! Brown xoxoxox

Wimpy

Wimpy, a dying fast food chain. I haven't been to one since I was like 10 or something. There's one still in Morden, but I've never been there. I never go to Morden! Why would I want to?

But in its hey day, back in the 80's, they had a TV advert, starring my Dad! Oh yes, it's not just my uncle the Halifax Man who's the famous one!

Enjoy.

A photo of Dick and Jamie

Can't be assed to rant or talk about anything, so thought I'd just upload a picture of Dick and Jamie with a security guard at the Tesco garage in South Wimbledon. Was taken on June 6th 2008.

Enjoy.

PSP2

PSP2 was revealed this morning in Japan at the Playstation meeting. Apparently it's as powerful as the PS3.

Specs are looking good:

5inch OLED multi touch screen , front and rear cameras, 3G connectivity and of course the long awaited dual sticks!!!

More details on CVG: http://www.computerandvideogames.com/285669/news/psp2-official-tech-specs-unveiled/

Very nice indeed! Gonna be overly exspensive though and the 3DS is catching my eye at the moment. Damn you increasingly good technology!

That's it for now.
